“I’m Still in APC, Ignore the Rumours,” Rivers Governor Fubara Clarifies.

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has finally broken his silence on the swirling rumours about his political allegiance and he says he’s not going anywhere.

Speaking yesterday after inspecting the Neuropsychiatric Hospital and the newly built General Hospital in Rumuigbo, Port Harcourt, Fubara flatly denied claims that he had defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC). He called the reports nothing more than social media gossip and a case of people reading too much into things.

“I know there’s been a lot of drama in the media, one story or the other,” the governor said. “I am a member of APC and nothing has changed.”

He urged the public to ignore what he described as baseless speculation. “People should stop using whatever situation they pick up from social media or their own interpretation of any situation to present me wrongly. I have not gone anywhere I am still a member of APC and I remain a member.”

According to Fubara, what truly matters is supporting the overall interest of the party, not the noise online.

Aside from setting the record straight on his political status, the governor also reaffirmed his administration’s focus on healthcare. He noted that the new General Hospital in Rumuigbo was built to solve the challenge of limited access to quality medical services especially mental health care in the area.

Before now, residents of Rumuigbo, Rumuola, Rumuolumeni, and nearby communities had to travel long distances, often relying on the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital as their closest option.

“We decided to make use of available space within the hospital premises to establish a General Hospital that will truly serve these communities,” Fubara explained, stressing that protecting lives and welfare remains a top priority for his government.
