Abia Woman Speaks Out: "He Beat Me Because I Refused His Money for Sex"

Victim Recounts Brutal Assault Over Pot of Soup Dispute.

Amarachi Chinyere has bravely come forward to share her side of the story after being violently attacked in Ohafia Local Government Area, Abia State.

The alleged assault, which has sparked widespread outrage on social media, reportedly began when a 37 year old man named Agwu Ukpo made unwanted sexual advances toward the married woman.

What Really Happened?

In a candid video shared by human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu on Monday, Amarachi revealed the disturbing chain of events:

"One day, that boy, Ukpo, asked me if he wanted to have sex with me, and I said no. Then he said he was going to give me N50,000. I told him no, that I am already married. He said he would treat me well, but I still told him no."

According to Amarachi, things turned sour shortly after she rejected his proposition.

The Soup That Sparked the Attack:

Amarachi claims the suspect began targeting her following her rejection. She explained:

"I went to the market to buy things to cook soup. After I finished cooking, I went out to buy Indomie. When I came back, he had carried my soup and poured it into a washing plate."

Although the matter seemed settled temporarily, another incident occurred days later:

"About three days later, the boy cooked soup. The soup had stayed in the pot for about three days, and there was only a little left. I carried the remaining soup from the pot into a plate, washed the pot, and warmed the soup. He later carried the soup and ate it."

The suspect then accused her of insulting him and threatened violence.

"He Beat Me Until My Body Became Weak"

Amarachi described the brutal assault in harrowing detail:

"He held me there and began to beat me. He hit me on my back, he hit me on my eyes, and he hit me on my chest. He beat me until my body became weak."

Despite pleas from bystanders to stop, the suspect allegedly continued his attack even warning another person not to intervene.

She added that the person filming the incident fled the scene by jumping over a fence.

"I Want Justice"

Amarachi is now demanding justice and accountability:

"I want justice. I want the police to take him to court... All the money my husband spent on my treatment, he should pay it back."

Arrest Made

The Abia State Police Command has since arrested Ukpo, with spokesperson Maureen Chinaka confirming he will face charges bordering on assault and attempted murder after investigations conclude.
