President Bola Tinubu on Thursday showered praises on Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, describing the two political figures as loyal, dedicated and influential contributors to Nigeria’s development as they marked their 61st and 64th birthdays respectively.
In separate birthday tributes released by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu applauded Sanwo-Olu for sustaining Lagos State’s transformation into a major economic, cultural and infrastructural hub with growing global relevance.
The President said the Lagos governor had successfully deployed his wealth of experience from both the private and public sectors to drive development across critical sectors of the state.
Tinubu noted that Sanwo-Olu’s administration had continued to build on Lagos’ reputation as Nigeria’s commercial powerhouse, while strengthening its status as a centre of excellence and a model for governance across the country.
“Governor Sanwo-Olu’s efforts in consolidating on the economic, infrastructural, and cultural transformation of Lagos State into a vibrant, dynamic and structured global city, with growing influence across the country and the world, are remarkable,” the statement said.
The President also commended the governor for his commitment to the ideals of the All Progressives Congress and his support for the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Tinubu prayed that Sanwo-Olu would be blessed with long life, sound health and greater achievements in service to Lagos State and Nigeria.
In another message, the President congratulated Gbajabiamila, who turned 64, describing him as a dependable public servant whose loyalty, sacrifice and leadership have remained valuable to the country.
Tinubu praised the former Speaker of the House of Representatives for his contributions to the growth of Nigeria’s democracy, his years of legislative service and his role in the formation and consolidation of the APC.
The President said Gbajabiamila had consistently demonstrated a strong sense of duty, placing national interest above personal considerations throughout his years in public service.
“As you celebrate your 64th birthday today, I deeply appreciate your loyalty, dedication, and sacrifice,” Tinubu said.
“Throughout the years, you have demonstrated capacity for service, placing national interest above personal considerations and working tirelessly for the progress of our country.
“Your dedication to duty and ability to coordinate complex governmental processes have contributed immensely to the realisation of our Renewed Hope Agenda.”
Tinubu further prayed for continued wisdom, strength and good health for his Chief of Staff, expressing confidence that Gbajabiamila would continue to play a key role in advancing the administration’s policies and programmes.
