Transfer: Osimhen only senior striker at Galatasaray as Icardi leaves club
Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, is now the only recognized striker at Galatasaray, after the club announced Mauro Icardi’s exit.
Icardi leaves the Turkish champions as a free agent.
The 33-year-old joined the Istanbul giants on an initial loan from Paris Saint-Germain in 2022.
The Argentine eventually made the move permanent one year later.
Icardi has been a key player for Galatasaray over his four seasons at the club, scoring 77 goals and providing 23 assists in his 134 games across all competitions.
Galatasaray are now expected to dip into the summer transfer market, to bring in a backup for Osimhen.
Osimhen himself is being linked with a move away from Turkey, with big clubs monitoring his situation.
