“God Will Punish You All”: Blessing CEO Fires Back at Trolls Who Wished Her Dead After Alex Ekubo’s Passing.
Relationship coach Blessing Okoro, better known as Blessing CEO, has hit back at social media users who called for her death following the tragic loss of actor Alex Ekubo.
According to The Nation, Ekubo passed away on Monday after a long battle with advanced metastatic kidney cancer.
Soon after the news broke, some commenters flooded Blessing CEO’s Instagram page with cruel messages—including one that said God should have taken her instead of the actor.
In response, Blessing CEO shared a video on Instagram calling out what she sees as fake sympathy. She said she’s always shocked by how quickly people become compassionate after someone dies, when many of the same people were hurling insults at that person while they were alive.
She also addressed the fact that Ekubo’s family kept his illness private. She argued that if they had shared photos of him during his sickness, the same trolls would have mocked him.
Her words:
“How do you people sympathize with the dead but bully the living? Each time someone passes away and I see how people become suddenly sympathetic, I’m always surprised. If you read the comments people make when the person is alive, you’ll be shocked. Some people were even saying things like ‘God should take Blessing CEO and give us Alex Ekubo.’ God will punish you all!
And for those saying his family kept everything off social media—if his pictures had been posted while he was sick, the same people would still have mocked him and said all sorts of things.”
The backlash comes just weeks after Blessing CEO herself sparked outrage in March when she falsely claimed to have stage 4 cancer and alleged she had another person’s medical report.
